Stainless steel 316H seamless pipes are high-carbon austenitic stainless steel pipes produced without any weld joints in them, which makes them uniform in strength and excellent in pressure-handling capacity. The pipes are made through hot extrusion of solid billets, which leaves the interior surface smooth and gives the pipes great dimensional accuracy. The chromium (16.18 per cent), nickel (10.14 per cent) and molybdenum (2.3 per cent) contents confer high corrosion resistance, particularly under chloride and chemical environments. These pipes are extensively employed in high-pressure and high-temperature applications (including heat exchangers, petrochemical processing, and power plants) because the construction is seamless.
