The Thomas Mount Feast is a deeply revered Christian tradition celebrated in Kerala, India, in honor of St. Thomas the Apostle. Known also as Judas Thomas Didymus or Jude Thomas Didymus, he was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. The name Thomas itself means “twin,” and while the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) list him among the apostles, they provide little detail about his life. The Acts of the Apostles also mention him, but it is the Gospel of John that gives more insight into his character, famously recounting his doubts and eventual declaration of faith in the risen Christ.
