Basic FSSAI Registration: This type of registration is suitable for small food businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs. 12 laths. These businesses include petty retailers, small food manufacturers, and small-scale food processors.
State FSSAI License: This type of license is suitable for medium-sized food businesses with an annual turnover of between Rs. 12 lakhs to Rs. 20 cores. These businesses include mid-sized food manufacturers, distributors, and food retailers.
Central FSSAI License: This type of license is required for large food businesses with an annual turnover of over Rs. 20 cores. These businesses include large food manufacturers, importers, and exporters.
The FSSAI registration or license category is determined based on the turnover, nature of the food business, and the size of the food business operation. It is important for food businesses to obtain the appropriate type of FSSAI registration or license to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and avoid penalties or legal issues.
