Introduction
Anjaw District, nestled in the northeastern frontier of Arunachal Pradesh, is a region of breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Officially created on 16 February 2004 under the Arunachal Pradesh Re-organization of Districts Amendment Bill, Anjaw is the easternmost district of India, sharing its borders with China to the north and Myanmar to the east. The district headquarters is located at Hawai, perched at an altitude of 1,296 meters above sea level along the banks of the Lohit River a major tributary of the Brahmaputra.
