Depression is a condition that affects many people at some point in their life. It often negatively impacts one’s relationships, along with their work and school performance. Depression is linked to chemical imbalances in the brain. For many individuals it follows some kind of a loss such as death, divorce, loss of a job, illness or period of high stress. Although grief and sadness are normal reactions to loss, depression is generally more pervasive with the depressed person unable to get relief.
