Before pursuing a psycho-educational evaluation make sure your child gets a comprehensive physical examination from his or her family doctor or paediatrician. This will allow the doctor to rule out any underlying medical issues that could be limiting the childs ability to learn. Also, make sure the youngster has had a vision and hearing screening to rule out or address any potential problems.
